B Corp certified communications agency
Every word counts, and words must be followed by action. Especially when it comes to the biggest and most global challenge we face today: global warming and the serious climate changes that we and our descendants will have to live with.
We believe that reliable data and transparent carbon accounting, combined with high ambitions for companies’ green transition, will help pave the way to a future where our planet remains habitable.
At Lead Agency, we want to help make the problem a little smaller. Our footprint is not big, but we too can change habits and make new decisions that reduce our carbon footprint. For this reason, we have analyzed our entire business and calculated precisely how much CO2 we emit.
In July 2024, we became a certified B Corp. The B Corp Certification is one of the world’s most ambitious sustainability certifications that assesses companies’ performance across social, environmental and managerial dimensions.
Overview of Lead Agency’s CO2 emissions

Sustainability in Lead 2023
At Lead Agency, we believe the price of CO2 is too low. That’s why four years ago, we introduced an internal CO2 tax for every ton of CO2 we emit as recommended by the Danish Council on Climate Change. In 2023, our CO2 tax was 800 DKK/ton, and we plan to increase the tax – and thereby the investment in carbon storage projects – by 100 DKK per year as climate change worsens.
We look forward to continuing this work in partnership with the Danish startup Klimate. Through Klimate, we invest our annual CO2 tax in a portfolio of methods that remove CO2 from the atmosphere.
Our tailored portfolio includes a mix of methods that capture CO2 from the atmosphere and store it safely, including afforestation, biochar, bio-oil, enhanced weathering, and biomass sinking.
In total, Lead emitted 57 tons of CO2 in 2023. Our goal is to maintain an annual level of 1.5 tons CO2e per employee.
3 selected initiatives
Conversion to EVs
All company cars have been replaced by electric cars. This has reduced CO2 emissions by 8,000 kg CO2 per year.
Lunch catering
Our emissions from our lunch have been reduced more than 50 pct. after switching to a full vegetarian lunch 5 days a week.
CO2 tax
We have imposed a CO2 tax on ourselves because we want to contribute to a change in behavior through incentives. In 2023, we emitted 57 tons of CO2e. We compensated for that through our internal tax.
Lead Agency’s sustainability policy visualized
Based on the detailed insight in our carbon accounting, we have compiled a sustainability policy for Lead Agency with realistic goals of reduction and a wide range of initiatives that will get us to the finish line.
The Global Goals we focus on
Sustainability is more than climate. In addition to climate action, SDG13, we focus on gender equality, SDG5, and responsible consumption and production, SDG12.
We can do this through our work with our many customers for whom these goals also play an important role, through our own actions, and in cooperation with our talented colleagues and business partners.
This means that we are very much aware of how to produce merchandise for ourselves and our customers and that we ensure the longest possible durability of the materials produced. Furthermore, we strive to primarily buy services and products from local manufacturers.
In relation to SDG 5, it is our job as consultants to help our customers to increased diversity – e.g., in panel discussions, at events, and in other contexts where a balanced representation is important.
